Third Tribe Marketing - Can You Learn Third Tribe Marketing From the Experts ?

The Third Tribe Marketing is much in the news at the moment - the theory is that you can learn how to become a successful entrepreneur just by hanging around the self-proclaimed big names of blogging including Brian Clark, Chris Brogan and Darren Rowse?

The question though is how realistic is it for someone who is entirely new to not just making money online but also to running their own business - to learn my hanging with the these experts?

Well I believe the answer is that it depends. If you are one of the minority of the population who is a natural born salesperson - you know you were selling apples at you parent's gate aged five - then a few pointers and a bit of networking and you should be on your way.

However the vast majority of us aren't natural-born salespeople. In fact most of us don't even want to be salesmen. In which case the whole basis of the Third Tribe Marketing may you a little - out in the cold really. Sure any skill can be learned if you are determined enough. Its not hard to learn how to write a good a sales page: attention grabbing headline, hook to get the reader interested, list benefits not features, create trust with testimonials and money back guarantees.

The real question though do you feel comfortable doing so? If you are not comfortable selling to your "tribe" then just because you CAN do it doesn't necessarily mean that you should be doing it. Being a successful business person is as much about being comfortable with your business model as it is about finding a viable way to make money.

Most of us are trying to start an online business because we are unhappy with the other ways to make money in our lives. Frankly if we were happy working in corporate jobs we would have stayed there - its much easier collecting a regular pay check rather than starting your own business from scratch.

So having taken the less-traveled road and decided to start your own business, be careful that you don't end up taking up another way of making money which leaves uncomfortable. Successful business owners are usually at least in part successful because they have a passion for what they are doing. That's because being in business is hard. Make sure the Third Tribe Marketing approach is something that you want to be involved with before you leap in with both feet.
